Pizza Price Wars Heat Up As Ray’s Intros 75 Cent Slice

Remember the 99 Fresh Pizza location that opened a few months ago on Broadway? Well, it looks like they’re already wreaking havoc on the area slice shops. From Lunch’er Jesse:

Ray’s between 54th and 55th street on Broadway must be feeling the heat from the recently opened 99 cent pizza shop across the street. They’ve unveiled 75 cent slices and a 99 cent menu.

Check out the full “temporary” 99 cent menu after the jump…

A Big Boy Graveyard How Very Very Sad

For those of you who want to visit the Big Boy Graveyard and for more information visit the latest post here.

It was the spring of 2001 when three friends and I headed out with cameras with a big destination in mind, we had a mission: find the Big Boy Graveyard. We heard of its existence and even had a nice aerial map to pinpoint it’s location.

To be honest, it was quite obscure. It’s not often you come across a molded fiberglass version of one of your favorite childhood cartoon characters tipped over in the woods — with a big hole in the side of his head. Not to mention there were three Big Boys. It was evident upon arrival that this was indeed a graveyard.

These photos were taken seven years ago, shortly after the Big Boy franchise (headquartered in Warren, MI) filed bankruptcy. There are still a few of them left today, but far and few between.

After posting these photos online seven years ago it didn’t take long before nearly every week someone found them online and e-mailed me asking where the Big Boy Graveyard can be found.

For the disappointment of many I am very sad to say that the Big Boy Graveyard outside of Negaunee no longer exists. The three Big Boy’s have been exhumed and most likely went to a scrap yard. As for the four of us that went there that day in 2001, we never did get to pull off that amazing high school prank by transporting one of these to the middle of the high school football field before the homecoming game.

However, for those of you who love the obscure, an adventure, or perhaps just want to visit the grave of a childhood icon (those shakes ay Big Boy sure were the best as a kid!) there is still hope. There is reportedly a second Big Boy Graveyard in the lower peninsula. And if anyone has information on this we would love to know.

Orlando's BK Whopper Bar Continues To Disappoint

This is what the "BK Whopper Bar" in Orlando was billed as. A state of the art next level Whopper Bazaar.

What we got was the same old BK with new jazzy signs. No new menu, no beer, and the same untrained rude employs... Below are some pictures of what you will see when traveling to Universal Studios in Orlando. You will see the first of it's kind and BK wonder of the World.

Notice you will not find the open flame, no pick your toppings bar,no add your fixings station, No new Menu, no beer, just the same old same old BK....

This is what BK Claimed about The New Whopper Bar in Orlando.... Don't

A “Contemporary” Edge

The first Whopper Bar opens today at the Universal CityWalk in Orlando. Its look is totally different from the typical BK, as seen in the photo above: The bar boasts an open kitchen, a bar-like countertop, and a whole new color scheme. Employees will also wear different uniforms, matching the red, black, and gray restaurant design. Burger King hopes the updated take will give its brand a new “contemporary” edge, representatives say.

Whopper Bar Plans

Burger King is planning six more Whopper Bars around the globe by the end of 2009, with the next set to open in Munich over the summer. Los Angeles, New York and Singapore will soon see locations as well. Eventually, the company says it could open as many as 500 of the units around the world in everywhere from stadiums to casinos and cruise ships.

Don't Waste your time visiting this joke, just go to your local BK close your eyes and dream of what could have been!
